Medication - Can I bring prescription medication?
The Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center will only accept medications that are in their original containers and must be clearly marked as to being prescribed to an existing inmate. The Detention Center’s Medical Department may contact the inmate’s physician or pharmacy to verify that a prescription is current. To facilitate this process please ensure that the following information is provided:
• name of medication
• pharmacy
• doctor’s name
• doctor’s phone number
However, certain restrictions may be applied and the Detention center reserves the right to prohibit certain prescriptions that may pose a threat to institutional security.
